10 Reasons why you need to get your guitar from Jensen’s
1. No High Pressured Sales Tactics Here
Our sales staff is made up of working musicians who will spend the time to find you the “perfect” instrument. We love to talk music! If we don’t have it, we can arrange to get something from one of our other locations, order it from the manufacturer or give you advice on where you can find it.
2. Our Staff Is Filled With Working Musicians
Since we are all working, playing gigs at many different types of venues, we know the ins and outs of what works, based on personal experience. These tips and tricks of the trade are freely passed on to you!
3. We Offer Lessons On Most Instruments We Sell
We know that it takes more than a book or DVD to learn to play an instrument properly so we offer lessons for most of the instruments we sell. Our professional instructors have years of experience teaching students of all ages. We offer generous lesson studios that our instructors decorate to their personal tastes. Some enjoy teaching the younger kids, making that first impression on their musical futures. While all our instructors teach beginners, they do have specific types of music they like to teach. When you sign up for lessons, we do ask a few questions to place you with an instructor who will be a good fit. Visit our lessons page for info: www.jensenguitar.com/lessons.html
4. Professional On-Site Repairs
When you walk into our stores, many times we are working on instrument repairs. All our sales staff can do basic repairs such as restrings, action adjustments and adding strap buttons. Several of our staff specialize in more complicated repairs, including pick-up installations, gluing loose braces, fret jobs, electronic repairs and major restoration projects where the instruments are sometimes in several pieces. Repairs are completed in the order they come in, so depending on the number of repairs ahead of your instrument, you may need to leave it in our capable hands for a few days. Visit our repairs page for more info: www.jensenguitar.com/repairs.html
5. Detailed and Fully Inspected
Each guitar we unpack from the factory or receive as a trade-in is fully inspected and checked for playability. Straight out of the box, most instruments require numerous adjustments to get them into tune and make them playable. We feel that if the instrument is in tune and adjusted properly, it will be easier to play and you will enjoy playing it! This is especially important for beginners, many of whom may not know exactly what the instrument should sound like or how it should feel when you’re playing it. Buying from a big box store, you’re not likely to get a playable instrument and it could even be sold to you in damaged condition. Do you really think the stockboy checked to see if the action was adjusted, if the guitar was in tune or if it had any loose braces? We doubt it too! Visit our guitar anatomy page for more info on the parts of the guitar: www.jensenguitar.com/guitar_anatomy.html
6. Electronics Inspection
All our electronics are checked in house to be sure we send you home with a functioning piece of equipment. This includes the pick-ups in our guitars, the amplifiers and PA systems as well as the effects pedals in our shops. There’s nothing worse then buying something you’re so excited to try out and having it malfunction once you get it home. We want you to be able to go home and make some music!
7. String Height Adjustment & Action
String height plays a major part in the comfort level of playing your guitar. The further you have to push down the strings to reach the fretboard, the harder it is to play the instrument. An action job will not only adjust the string height but also adjusts other components to increase the general playability.
8. Neck Inspection & Adjustment
Neck inspection and adjustment includes checking the nut height and making any truss rod adjustments.
9. Fret Inspection & Adjustment
The fret inspection and adjustment checks the individual fret wear and the condition of the fretboard. Sometimes a fret file is needed to even everything out.
10. Adjustable Bridge Intonation
Bridge intonation adjustments are done so the guitar is in tune with itself from the top of the fretboard to the bottom.
